DARUL HIKMAH is an online institute of Islamic studies based in West Bengal, India (“Darul Hikmah”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information our app and portal collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what is needed to run classes for our enrolled students and teachers.
1. Information we collect

A login token is stored securely on your device (Android secure storage) so you stay logged in. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera data, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics.
2. Services that help us run classes
- Zoom — live classes open in the Zoom app or website. Zoom’s own privacy policy applies inside Zoom: zoom.us/privacy.
- YouTube — recorded classes are unlisted YouTube videos played through YouTube’s official player (privacy-enhanced mode). YouTube’s and Google’s policies apply to playback: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Cloud — our server and student records are hosted on Google Cloud services (India region where available), which process data only on our instructions.
- Google Drive — books in our Digital Library are opened from Google Drive.
3. How we use and share information
We use your information only to provide classes, recordings and support, and to keep accounts secure. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone for marketing. Your information is visible only to Darul Hikmah administrators and, where needed, to your own teachers. We may disclose information if required by law.
4. Security
All data between the app/portal and our server is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, accounts are locked temporarily after repeated wrong passwords, and only authorised administrators can access student records.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your account while you are a student or teacher with us. When a batch ends, its classes are archived and its students lose access to its recordings. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see below).
6. Deleting your account (অ্যাকাউন্ট মুছে ফেলা)
To delete your Darul Hikmah account and its data:
- Email info@darulhikmah.in with the subject “Delete my account”, or send a WhatsApp message to +91 80174 25233, from your registered mobile number, with your name.
- We will confirm and delete your account (name, mobile number, password and enrolments) within 30 days. Records we are required to keep by law, such as fee receipts, may be retained for the legally required period.
অ্যাকাউন্ট মুছতে চাইলে আপনার নিবন্ধিত মোবাইল নম্বর থেকে উপরের ইমেইল বা হোয়াটসঅ্যাপে আপনার নাম লিখে জানান। ৩০ দিনের মধ্যে অ্যাকাউন্ট ও তথ্য মুছে দেওয়া হবে।
7. Children
Our app is intended for adult students and teachers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
